Overview

  • Developing a centralized, AI-powered Commercial Intelligence Platform designed to accelerate collaboration and enable data-driven decision-making across global sales teams. By integrating molecule intelligence, commercial data, and opportunity insights into an intuitive interface, the platform empowers sales professionals to identify collaboration partners, uncover share gain opportunities, and engage clients with actionable insights.
  • Building on the success of the Commercial Connections Dashboard, this initiative will scale adoption through embedded AI experiences, improving collaboration speed, win rates, and deal size while aligning with Client's future strategic direction.

Role Summary:

  • The Business Data Analyst serves as a critical link between business stakeholders, data teams, and system SMEs. The role translates sales, marketing, and commercial needs into actionable data and analytics requirements, ensuring CRM, AI, and business intelligence platforms deliver measurable value.
  • The analyst will drive business data integrity, analytical enablement, and AI readiness, supporting a data-driven commercial strategy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition and documentation of business and data requirements, ensuring clarity between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT, analytics, and AI teams to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and usability across systems like Salesforce, Power BI, and Enterprise ChatGPT.
  • Map and analyse business processes and data flows to uncover insights, inefficiencies, and automation or AI-enhancement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, KPI frameworks, and analytical models to measure adoption, sales impact, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Drive data quality validation and governance processes to ensure integrity and reliability of CRM and commercial data.
  • Partner with stakeholders for solution testing, validation, and rollout, ensuring smooth adoption and measurable business value.
  • Deliver post-deployment impact assessments showcasing commercial outcomes, adoption rates, and revenue growth drivers.

Key Deliverables:

  • Business & Data Requirements Documentation Defined objectives, data needs, and process dependencies guiding analytics and AI design.
  • CRM & Data Integration Specifications Documented Salesforce and commercial data mappings aligned with business use cases.
  • Data Quality & Governance Reports Validation outputs ensuring complete, consistent, and accurate business data.
  • Performance Dashboards & KPI Frameworks Power BI reports and metrics tracking adoption, revenue impact, and marketing ROI.
  • AI & Insight Readiness Documentation Business context and curated datasets enabling GPT-based analytics and automation.
  • Post-Deployment Impact Reports Evidence-based reports linking data insights to measurable business performance improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical & Analytical Expertise (5+ Years)

  • Proven experience managing CRM and commercial data, preferably in Salesforce environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and SQL for analytical modelling, visualization, and dashboard development.
  • Skilled in data integration, ETL, and process mapping across sales, marketing, and commercial platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and validation best practices.
  • Hands-on exposure to Databricks, AWS, and AI-driven analytical platforms such as ChatGPT or similar tools.
  • Experience building Business Intelligence models that tie operational metrics to strategic business outcomes.

Business & Collaboration Experience (5+ Years)

  • Deep understanding of sales, marketing, and commercial operations, including lead-to-revenue and campaign performance flows.
  • Strong track record in translating business requirements into data-driven analytical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration with IT, analytics, and business leadership teams.
  • Expertise in problem-solving, process optimization, and insight generation using data analytics.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of converting data into compelling business narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Data Analyst, Commercial Data Analyst, or BI Analyst in enterprise settings.
  • Experience within AI-augmented analytics or GPT-based data platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with sales operations, marketing analytics, and commercial strategy frameworks in large organizations.
